We Can Prevent Breast Cancer

All women wish to avoid cancer and breast cancer in particular because of extreme consequences that in modern treatment, usually involves radical surgery and chemotherapy.
Regrettably, breast cancer is all too common and one of the most serious causes of women's fatalities through disease in Australia and the US. Contemporary methods of orthodox medicine are no guarantee of a permanent cure. In fact it is generally considered that a patient has a limited future following the most severe treatment. There has been no real success in curing by chemicals and radiation in spite of efforts in research to find an answer.
In contrast, the naturopathic approach is to encourage the natural powers of healing to do their best by reducing the negative factors that result in storage of toxins in the body. If left to accumulate, these in time can irritate the cells into abnormal behaviour and lead to cancer. In conjunction with improving elimination of toxins, we must provide the finest nutritional substances needed to restore balance and perfect health. This constituted the simple principle that can be applied to all diseases, including treatment of cancer.
However, the most obvious approach is to effectively prevent cancer by abiding by all the natural health rules that are required for excellent body function. There is no doubt that the answer is to turn our minds to identify these factors and apply them through our personal self discipline.
We are all aware of the social and environmental factors that can cause cancer, from mobile phones to artificial foods, faulty nutrition and the many carcinogens that exist in our surroundings. So it is an uphill battle to avoid all the negatives entirely. But we must try.
Our efforts should include -
- nutrition is important to include organic food and vital supplements
- avoid chemical ingestion and pollution in the environment
- satisfy the body's need for regular exercise
- adequate breathing and oxygenation of the blood
- freedom from psychological stress
- need for a vital positive mental interest in life
In regard to prevention of breast cancer in particular there are another three very important factors to consider in order to maximize the chances of avoiding the disease.
Firstly, it is necessary to balance hormonal function and cease taking the oral contraceptive Pill. The Pill is now well known to increases risk of breast cancer and cause mental depression.
Secondly, daily exercise that includes appropriate movements that stimulate circulation of blood and lymph around the underarms to involve the arm and shoulder muscles. There are many specific yoga exercises and asanas that can assist with this.
Thirdly to cease the use of suppressant deodorants that force perspiration and the toxins that should be eliminated from the body, to linger in the area of breasts and armpits.
To regularly use self massage is also helpful. Seek further advice from your naturopath or yoga teacher.
Remember to have faith in the fact that the powers of nature are unlimited but we must do our part to allow them to succeed in maintaining our health and well being.
